T. William “Bill” Boxx is Chairman and CEO of the Phillip M. McKenna Foundation, a private grant-making foundation based in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. He previously worked in government affairs and corporate services for Kennametal Inc. and in social services for the state of Arkansas. In addition to serving on the board of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, he was also a founding member of its National Civic Literacy Board. At Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, he serves on the Council of Advisors of the Alex G. McKenna School of Business, Economics, and Government, which he helped found, and he is a Senior Fellow of the Center for Economics and Policy Education, which he also helped found. He has also served on Saint Vincent’s board of directors. Mr. Boxx is a founding trustee and serves as Chairman of the Commonwealth Foundation for Public Policy Alternatives in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He is on the board and is Chairman of the Education Committee of Pennsylvanians for Effective Government, also in Harrisburg. He serves on the board of the Henry Salvatori Center at Claremont McKenna College in California. Mr. Boxx has written articles and coedited books on political and moral-cultural topics, including Public Morality, Civic Virtue, and the Problem of Modern Liberalism and Toward the Renewal of Civilization: Political Order and Culture, both published by Eerdmans. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Arkansas State University and a master of arts in theology from Saint Vincent.
