In addition, Marshall works actively with national trade associations representing the electric, natural gas and nuclear energy industries. She has held a number of leadership positions with Edison Electric Institute and the Nuclear Energy Institute. Marshall is also a member of the board of directors of the Business-Government Relations Council. Marshall has 20 years of experience in government affairs, including nine years on Capitol Hill. She joined Duke Energy in June 1999 as vice president and general manager of federal governmental affairs in Washington, D.C. Before joining Duke Energy, Marshall served as a Washington representative for Southern California Edison from 1995 to 1999, where she formulated and implemented the company's federal government relations program. She was previously the legislative director for Congressman Michael G. Oxley from 1989 to 1995, and worked for Congressman Dan Schaefer from 1986 to 1989. She was named to her current position in April 2006. A native of Bozeman, Mont., Marshall graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.
