Most recently, Veazey served for two years as Director of Legislative Affairs and Associate Counsel for the United Fresh Produce Association headquartered in Washington. Her work at United Fresh included negotiations on key specialty crop provisions in the 2008 Farm Bill and securing over $1.3 billion of mandatory federal funding for the produce industry. Veazey also gained in-depth experience, both legislative and regulatory, in priority areas such as immigration, nutrition, trade, country of origin and food safety labeling. Prior to her work with United Fresh, Veazey served as a Litigation Attorney for Moore, Ingram, Johnson & Steele, LLC in Marietta, Georgia where she represented insurance companies against unreasonable and fraudulent claims. She has also held political positions with Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and the late Senator Paul Coverdell (R-GA).
