George Thompson

George Thompson is a dealer principal for Thompson Auto Sales, a dealer of Buick, GMC, and Cadillac automobiles in Springfield, Mo. He previously served on the Cadillac National Advisors Board and the Regional Pontiac Advisors Committee. He has served as vice-chairman of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce Board and was a member of the boards of the YMCA, the Girls Club, Hickory Hills Country Club and the Missouri Auto Dealers Association. George was also a member of the Missouri Auto Dealers Association board's executive committee and served as the organization's president in 1998. He is past chairman of the General Motors Service & Parts Advisory Board and a past board member on the Missouri Golf Association. George received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and economics from Drury University in 1970. He previously served on Drury’s Board of Trustees from 2004-2014. George has two children: Miles ’94 and Emily, who is director of Drury's transitional programs.
