At just 33 years old he has experience and contacts in politics, labor and business that you would be hard pressed to find with many people regardless of age. Michael is called on regularly by local and national media for insight and analysis related to Democratic Party politics. In addition, Kelley is a sought after political advisor to many candidates and issue campaigns in Missouri. He has served as the Political Director of the Missouri AFL-CIO, Executive Director of the Missouri Democratic Party, Treasurer of the Missouri Democratic Party and National Political Advisor to Congressman Dick Gephardt. In 2004, Michael started The Kelley Group, Inc., a public communications company designed to assist clients in dealing with government, business and labor. The Kelley Group, which includes Bob Kelley and Jack Martorelli, represents a diverse client base in fields including manufacturing, health care, retail, broadcast, professional sports teams and financial institutions. Michael is currently active on a number of boards including: University of Missouri Legislative Advisory Board, St. Louis Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans and St. Joseph Health Center and St. Joseph Hospital West Foundation. Michael is the fifth of six children, and the only boy, of parents Bob and Barb Kelley. He was born and raised in St. Charles, Missouri and graduated from Duchesne High School and the University of Missouri St. Louis. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science.
