Lori Hogan and her husband Paul founded Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. The company started as a small business operated from Paul’s mother’s dining room table and is now the largest senior care organization in the world. Lori focuses her work on bettering the lives of the Home Instead Senior Care network’s 65,000 CAREGiversSM and is a source of inspiration for franchise owners. Lori is a University of Nebraska at Omaha graduate and a former Miss Nebraska USA. She currently serves on the boards of the Nebraska Family Alliance, the Nebraska State Chamber of Commerce, the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation, the Broadway Dreams Foundation and the Home Instead Center for Successful Aging Advisory Board. Lori is chairman of the American Heart Association Sweethearts, a leadership program for select young women in high school. She is a past board member of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce. She was presented with the “Successful Business Woman Award” by the Omaha Downtown Chapter of American Business Women’s Association in 2004. Lori and Paul received the “E” Award from the Department of Commerce in May 2008 to recognize their success in exporting their home care business concept to other countries through the Home Instead Senior Care franchise network. This award is one of the highest honors the federal government presents to individuals, firms or organizations that make a significant contribution to American exports. It was presented at a White House ceremony with President George W. Bush. In 2009, the Hogans entered into a partnership with the University of Nebraska Medical Center to serve as anchor donors for the Home Instead Center for Successful Aging, a hub of medical services, education, activities and research dedicated to seniors located on the UNMC campus in Omaha. Lori and Paul have four children; they live in Omaha, Nebraska.
