Bob Millstone began his professional career working as an associate at a premier St. Louis law firm, Coburn & Croft (now Thompson Coburn), where he initially focused on private placement, international and tax work. He later became a Senior Trial Attorney in the Tax Division of the United States Department of Justice. Late 1994 he returned to St. Louis to help turn around Bangert Brothers Construction Company (now Millstone Bangert, Inc.). In 2001, Bob formed The Millstone Company, a real estate and private equity investment company. The Millstone Company has been a platform for Bob to invest in the areas of health care, energy, real estate, notes, banking and insurance. The Millstone Company controls Fountain Lakes Commerce Center, a 2.6 million-square-foot development of mixed use industrial, retail and commercial space. Bob also has long-standing involvement in an array of community organizations. His current activities include being a Director of Royal Banks of Missouri, member of the Regional Business, Chair of the Board for the Jewish Federation of St. Louis; Director of the Barnes Jewish Hospital Foundation; Director of the Hawthorn Foundation; and, President and Director of the Millstone Foundation. Bob is also a member of the National Councils for Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and the Skandalaris School of Entrepreneurship for the Olin School of Business.
