Serving as Executive Vice President for Federal Affairs, Mat Lapinski represents a broad spectrum of clients across multiple practice areas. Mr. Lapinski has over a decade of advocacy experience in the complex corridors of Washington’s federal legislative and regulatory institutions. Taking a unique route into the advocacy arena, Mr. Lapinski has spent his entire career dedicated solely to legislative and regulatory advocacy. Beginning as a lobbyist for healthcare and insurance interests, Mr. Lapinski now covers a broad array of policy disciplines including but not limited to financial services, education, energy, healthcare, and security policy. Having worked in both contract lobbying practices and trade associations, Lapinski well understands the inner workings of large and small-scale advocacy efforts, and the importance of building the winning coalitions and integrated campaigns necessary for client success. Before joining Crossroads, Mr. Lapinski was part of the public policy practice at SNR Denton and part of the lobbying team at the Property and Casualty Insurers Association of America. Prior to joining Sonnenschein, Lapinski held positions in the federal government relations office of the Property Casualty Insurers Association of America (PCI), where he represented over 1,000 companies on Capitol Hill on issues including asbestos liability reform, terrorism reinsurance extension and insurance regulatory modernization. Lapinski also served as a federal government relations associate with the healthcare lobbying firm of Jeffrey J. Kimbell & Associates. Lapinski received a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, in government and history from Georgetown University.
