As a true veteran of Washington, D.C. politics, Arthur Mason adds financial, legal, and political expertise to Cassidy & Associates’ broad spectrum of government relations capabilities. His resources and experience helps clients to address financial regulation issues, guide legislation on business and investment, and develop relationships with key decision makers in Congress and the federal agencies. Mr. Mason procured issue-area and logistical knowledge as a member of the legal staff of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, where he served in the Office of the Chief Counsel, Division of Trading and Markets. He also worked with the President’s Commission on the Review of the National Policy toward Gambling and was appointed by President Ford as a United States Delegate to the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. In 1976, Mr. Mason was the Republican nominee for U.S. House of Representatives from the 4th Congressional District of Massachusetts. He served on Presidential Inaugural Committees in 1984 and 1988. A native of Brookline, Massachusetts, Mr. Mason graduated from Cornell University and Boston College Law School. Following law school, he entered the United States Army and served in the infantry as a first lieutenant and captain in Vietnam. While a company commander, he was awarded the Silver Star for Gallantry in Action, the Bronze Star, three Air Medals, a Valorous Unit Citation, and numerous other declarations. Mr. Mason is a current member of the Republican National Committee’s Team 100, has served on the Executive Committee of the Republican National Finance Committee’s Eagles organization, and on the 1996 and 2000 Republican National Convention Committees. He currently serves on the Bush-Cheney ’04 National Veterans Steering Committee.
