Member of the college’s Board of Trustees who has served for more than 35 years. Additionally, she formerly led the Alumnae/i Association as president in the past. Berry continues to devote her time and energy to volunteering and philanthropy in a number of capacities. After college, Berry worked as a psychiatric social worker at the University of Tennessee and served as national chair of volunteers for the American Red Cross. She has also served as vice chair for United Way of America and Volunteers of America. She was honored with the prestigious national Harriman Award from the Red Cross in 1998, and in 2002, Berry received the Lifetime of Dedication to Charity & Volunteerism Award from United Way of Buncombe County, Asheville, North Carolina.
