Ruthann has been a Director of Rovi Corporation (ROVI), a digital media company, since 2008. She was a Director at Gemstar-TV Guide Corporation (GMST), a television media company from 2004-2008. Ruthann also served as a Director for Georgetown University, her alma mater, from 2003-2009. Wharton Magazine named her one of its 125 Most Influential People in 2006. Ruthann was a General Partner in Funds VI-VIII of Institutional Venture Parnters (IVP) where she invested in digital media and software companies and served as a Director on a variety of public and private Boards. Prior to joining IVP, Ruthann was a Managing Director at Alex. Brown & Sons. During her 10 year tenure as both an investment banker and research analyst, she lead the IPOs of leading software companies including Microsoft, AOL, Electronic Arts, Borland, and McAfee Associates as well as the sale of Peter Norton Utilites to Symantec and the Nippon Steel investment in Oracle Corporation.
