Charles Conn is Warden (CEO) of the Rhodes Trust, the 110-year-old organization that administers the Rhodes Scholarships and other educational programs. Prior to the Rhodes Trust, Charles was Senior Advisor to the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation and a private investor. At the Moore Foundation his conservation projects included the wild salmon ecosystems initiative and the Palmyra atoll research station. His investment company, Redjuice Capital, focuses on technology and clean energy companies, including Natel, Phycal, and Living Homes. He sits on several company and nonprofit boards, including Patagonia and Trout Unlimited. Previously, Charles was a successful technology entrepreneur. He co-founded Citysearch and as CEO led the company through its merger with Ticketmaster, as well as its public offering and acquisitions of Microsoft Sidewalk, Match.com, Evite, and other companies. In 1997 the Southern California Software Industry Council named him Entrepreneur of the Year. In 2001 he was selected as a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute. Prior to starting TMCS, Charles was a Partner with McKinsey & Company, and a leader of its growth strategy and energy practices. Charles is a graduate of Harvard Business School, Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes scholar, and Boston University.
