Dale Allen is a partner with Adams and Reese LLP in Nashville, Tennessee. Practicing law since 1984, Dale is a corporate lawyer who concentrates his practice in transportation, government relations and regulatory law. He serves as legislative counsel to a number of businesses, trade associations and non-profit organizations with interests before the Tennessee General Assembly. Dale has been successful in assisting in passing legislation over the past 30 years resulting in tax and regulatory relief on a variety of matters in the areas of trucking, rental car, entertainment and health care. In the transportation industry, Dale serves on the board of and as general counsel for Averitt Express, Inc., as well as the Tennessee Trucking Association. He is an active member of the Conference of Freight Counsel and Transportation Lawyers of America. Dale has served on the board of directors of the Tennessee Performing Arts Corporation since 2003 and served as its chairman in 2014-2015. He is also a board member of the National Guard Association Educational Foundation of the United States based in Washington, D.C. He is a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church in Nashville and serves its endowment board. Dale served for 28 years in the Tennessee Army National Guard serving in numerous positions including Command Staff Judge Advocate and as the J-7 supporting legislative initiatives on the state and federal levels. He retired with the rank of Colonel in November 2015. He received his J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University, and earned his B.S. from the University of Tennessee at Martin. Dale and his wife, the former Julie Dobbs from Memphis, Tennessee, reside in Nashville, Tennessee. They have one child, Jack, who is a rising fourth grader at the Oak Hill School in Nashville.
