She was an active member of many Marin organizations, including having been a founding board member of Marin Academy, founding member of the Hospice of Marin, and member of the executive committee of the Lincoln Club of California. She was a major supporter of Marin General Hospital and the Pacific Research Institute, and served as director of the California State Park Foundation. She was a horsewoman and member of the Horseman's Association. She was also a longtime supporter of local environmental issues. She is survived by her husband, Bill; three sons, Bill, Bob, and Hunter Spencer; brother, Robert Donner Jr.; and six grandchildren.
