John Myers is a Vice President at The Glover Park Group and specializes in government relations, strategic planning, and public policy. Prior to joining The Glover Park Group’s government relations practice, Myers served 11 years in the Senate, most recently as the Senior Health and Science Policy Advisor to Senator Arlen Specter. Myers has appreciable experience working on a wide variety of healthcare topics including Medicare reimbursement, stem cell research, and chronic disease prevention and management policy. During his tenure in the Senate, he worked closely with key officials within the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Myers also developed close relationships with key Members and staff of the Senate Appropriations Committee, having served under the former Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations Chairman and Ranking Member on pressing funding medical research and bio-terror issues. In addition to a broad health care portfolio, Myers has a substantive background working on energy, environment, transportation policy issues, including work with the Environment and Public Works Committee. A native Washingtonian, Myers holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska. He lives with his wife in Washington, DC.
