Jerry R Junkins

Former Chairman of Texas Instruments

Mr. Junkins joined the company in 1959, the same year he earned a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University. Mr. Junkins became president and chief executive officer of TI in 1985, and chairman in 1988. At the time of his death, he was a member of the board of directors of Caterpillar Inc., The Proctor & Gamble Company and 3M. In addition to his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University, Mr. Junkins earned a master’s in engineering administration from Southern Methodist University in 1968.
