Christina Erland Culver brings a wealth of experience to the education technology industry, education reform non-profits and philanthropic community through EdNexus Advisors a strategic consulting and government affairs firm in Washington, DC. Prior to launching her consulting business in 2009, Christina was Vice President at the Washington, DC based lobbying and government relations firm, Dutko Worldwide. Christina’s experience includes several years as a political appointee at the U.S. Department of Education where she served as Acting Assistant Secretary and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Intergovernmental and Interagency Affairs and was responsible for federal relations with state government regarding compliance with the No Child Left Behind Act. Prior to government she was Vice President of Development and Strategic Affairs for Children First America, a national non-profit in support of school choice public policy. In the mid-1990s, Christina ran the prestigious Presidential Roundtable at the Republican Senatorial Committee, and prior to that Christina worked at Brown Advisory, a division of Alex. Brown & Sons in Baltimore, Maryland. In the early 1990s Christina served at the US Department of Education under Secretary Lamar Alexander and in the White House under President George H.W. Bush. She got her start in Washington working for Senator Bob Dole’s 1988 presidential campaign, and the 1989 Bush presidential transition. In June 2011, Christina was named to the Romney for President Education Advisory Committee. She serves on the board of highly rated Washington Latin Public Charter School in Washington, DC. She also serves on the non-profit boards of Living Classrooms of Washington, DC and the board of the education R&D non-profit Innovative Learning Stratagems, Lawrence Kansas. Christina is a political contributor in the national media appearing on Fox News and Fox Business. She co-authored a book, Virtual Schooling: a Guide to Optimizing Your Child’s Education, released in June 2009. Christina is a recent graduate of the U.S. Naval War College with a master’s degree in National Security and Strategic Studies, and has a B.A. in political science from the University of Kansas.
