Andy Unanue

Andy Unanue is a Managing Partner of AUA Private Equity Partners, LLC and is a member of AUA’s Investment Committee. Prior to founding the firm, Mr. Unanue established AU & Associates, LLC, the family office for the Unanue family. Previously, he held various positions with Goya Foods, Inc., between 1991-2004. Mr. Unanue was Goya’s Chief Operating Officer (1999-2004) managing the daily operations of Goya’s U.S. business. Mr. Unanue was involved in strategic planning, new product development, advertising, media, and community relations. One of his greatest successes is expanding Goya’s recognition from primarily Hispanic homes to becoming a household name in the U.S. market. Mr. Unanue is the Chairman of the Board of Associated Foods Holdings, LLC and serves on the boards of KABR Real Estate Partners, Opt-Intelligence, Inc., TRUFOODS, LLC, and eSchoolData, Inc. He is also a Founding Board Member of the New America Alliance, Inc. (NAA). He is a is a member of the University of Miami’s President Council and serves on the Board of the National Association of Investment Companies (NAIC), as well as several other not-for-profit organizations including Ballet Hispanico and The C&J Unanue Foundation. His past directorships include the U.S. Savings Bonds National Volunteer Committee as Food and Beverage Chair and Co- Chair of the Annual Convention of the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce held in Los Angeles. Mr. Unanue is a recipient of the Hispanic MBAs prestigious Entrepreneurship Achievement Award and the Tonio Burgos Business Award. Both the Federation of Hispanic Chambers and Hispanic magazine honored him as Businessman of the Year. The American Advertising Federation has awarded Mr. Unanue the Diversity Achievement Award as “Industry Influential.” Mr. Unanue was previously an Operating Executive of Palladium Equity Partners, a $1 billion private equity firm. He also served as Employer Trustee for the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union Pension Fund and was an active member of New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s Transition Committee. Mr. Unanue received his MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.
