John Buttrick

Mr. John Buttrick is a Partner at Union Square Ventures. He also manages firm’s fund Union Square Ventures Opportunity Fund, L.P. From 2004-2006 he was an Advisor to Eckford Group. From 2003-2009 Mr. Buttrick was a Member of the Board of Directors of Agfa-Gevaert N.V. From 2000-2004, he was a Partner at LiveWire. He worked in the firm’s Paris office from 1988-1990 and became a Partner in the firm’s mergers and acquisitions group in 1994. Mr. Buttrick began his career as a Lawyer and from 1985 to 2000 he practiced corporate law at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York. Since 2004, Mr. Buttrick has also been involved in a number of start-up ventures as an investor, director and consultant. He is currently Board Chair of Environmental Advocates of New York and Hirondelle USA. Mr. Buttrick holds a J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and majored in American Studies from Northwestern University.
