Matt Fleury became President and Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut Science Center April 1, 2009, after serving as the Center’s Executive Vice President and COO during the Center’s development since 2003. Matt joined the Center after helping to launch the project in his prior capacity with the Capital City Economic Development Authority (CCEDA). Previously, Matt served in management positions in communications and government affairs in the telecommunications industry after a successful career as a journalist. Matt earned his MBA from the University of Connecticut School of Business and an undergraduate degree in business and communications at Charter Oak State College. He also has studied organizational leadership at the Yale School of Management, and nonprofit performance and governance at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. In addition to his service on the Board of Regents, Matt is a member of the board of the Association of Science & Technology Centers and the board of the MetroHartford Alliance and the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts Board of Overseers and a Corporator of St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center. He and his wife, television news anchor Irene O’Connor, reside in Hartford with their twin boys, Robert and Quilty.
