Oakland Mayor Jean Quan has brought in an outside team to investigate the police actions around Occupy Oakland events.
On Wednesday, the mayor introduced the lead investigator in charge of the review, Thomas C. Frazier, a consultant with a long career in law enforcement. Frazier and a core three-person group will comb through police video, conduct interviews and listen to audio to find out what went wrong in the police response to the Occupy Oakland events that have gripped the city in the last several weeks.
Quan said she wants to gain clarity around police activities when the city forcibly removed the Occupy Oakland encampment at Frank Ogawa Plaza on Oct. 25 and during the General Strike on Nov. 2.
