Notes Marissa was born in Los Angeles. At age 7, she moved to Israel and completed her elementary and high school education with honors, mastering Hebrew, but not forgetting her English nor the family she left behind in Los Angeles. She later served in the IDF in military intelligence. After almost 10 years as an educator, Marissa is now embracing her true passion of empowering the Israeli-Americans community through ILC’s resources and creative initiatives, developing some of her own ideas. Marissa’s most recent position was as the Director of Education at CTJ in Manhattan Beach. Marissa received her Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from UCLA and Master of Arts in Education (M.A.Ed.) from American Jewish University. In 2006, Marissa received the Smotrich Family Foundation Award for excellence for her work with children. She has been the Chair of Organizational Development for Dor Chadash Los Angeles and is a member of AIPAC, WAIPAC, The Israeli Consulate lecture series, the Guardians, the Bureau of Jewish Education and the AJU Fingerhut School of Education team. Marissa’s diverse background, unique skills and experience in fund-raising, event planning, marketing and community building helps further ILC’s mission and the goals of the Israeli-American community.
