Notes The Digital Futures Commission The Digital Futures Commission (DFC) is an exciting research collaboration of unique organisations that invites innovators, policymakers, regulators, academics and civil society to unlock digital innovation in the interests of children and young people. It seeks to put the needs of children and young people into the minds and workplans of digital innovators, business, regulators and governments. It calls for a critical examination of how children’s lives are being reconfigured by innovation to reimagine the digital world in value-sensitive ways that uphold rights and take practical steps to meet children’s needs. The DFC research team, led by Professor Sonia Livingstone OBE, has three work streams: play in a digital world, beneficial uses of education data, and guidance for innovators. Each is informed by the voices of children and underpinned by research and outputs geared toward real-world change for children.
