On November 7, 2013, The Honorable Bijan Kian installed Mr. Paul Monteiro, former
Associate Director in the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs at the White
House as a new Nowruz Commission Ambassador. The installation took place at The White House,
during a ceremony celebrating Mr. Monteiro's service to the President. Ms. Valerie Jarrett, Senior
Advisor to the President of the United States and Assistant to the President for Public Engagement
and Intergovernmental Affairs, was present for the installation.
