Served as the first Director of Legislative Affairs. Directorate has a budget of $1.6 billion and serves as the research and development arm of the DHS, utilizing our nation’s scientific and technological resources.
Helped to stand up the first office of Legislative Affairs at DHS.
* Coordinated all Capitol Hill activities for the Directorate, including budget, authorization and appropriations process, hearings, briefings, constituent issues, and legislative initiative. Facilitated relations for S & T Under Secretary, and leadership in the Directorate with both Democratic and Republican staff on jurisdictional committees and Congressional offices.
*Issue areas included: cyber security, biological/chem warfare, interoperability/communications, University Centers of Excellence, development counter-terrorism technologies.
Helped facilitate legislation and funding for the Domestic Nuclear Detection office (DNDO) on the Hill.
*Held Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
*Received Highest Performance Review for every year at DHS |
