Notes Pollak is the co-founder of Wellcoin (a reward platform for healthy living), a Senior Researcher-in-Residence at Cornell Tech and a Visiting Fellow at Weill Cornell Medical College. Pollak’s primary interest is developing engaging systems that capture health-related data to encourage or facilitate healthier behavior. He has designed mobile health applications in domains such as diet and exercise, cancer, and chronic pain. He also developed the Photographic Affect Meter (PAM), a digital assessment of emotional state that is used widely in clinical and behavioral research and industry. In industry and as an entrepreneur, he has developed several leading applications in health and life sciences, broadly ranging from genetics to population modeling to health behavior. Pollak earned a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction and a PhD in Information Science at Cornell University.
