Dr. Jerry Sue Thornton, of Moreland Hills, Ohio, has served as President of Cuyahoga Community College, the largest community college in Ohio, since 1992. Previously, she served as Dean of Arts and Sciences at Triton College in River Grove, Illinois and the President of Lakewood Community College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Dr. Thornton serves on several not-for-profit boards including United Way Services, The Cleveland Foundation and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. She also serves on the following corporate boards: National City Bank, RPM, Inc. and Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc. She serves as co-chair for the City of Cleveland Empowerment Zone Citizens' Advisory Committee and the State of Ohio Governor's Workforce Policy Board (WEA). Dr. Thornton received B.A. and M.A. degrees from Murray State University in Kentucky and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Texas at Austin. |
