The institute celebrated 35 years of M&S research achievement 2017. Founded in 1982 as a research unit of the University of Central Florida and reporting directly to the Vice President for Research and Commercialization, the institute provides a wide range of research and information services for the modeling, simulation and training community. Faculty and staff are distributed among IST's three Central Florida Research Park buildings, Partnership II, Partnership III and the Simulation and Training Technology Center. The Florida High Tech Corridor boasts of the highest concentration of simulation and training related activities in the nation.
