I directed all activities within an office of 8, with a focus on increasing and improving university-level data/analytic support for strategic planning and decisions. I engaged with leaders across the university and reported to the Provost, and assisted community partnerships with ties to the university, advising groups on various activities. I provided support to 2 community partnerships (Promise Neighborhood initiative and Bridging RVA). Past successes:
❖Led team of 8 during period of significant transition and change, including transformation of the institutional research function from Center for Institutional Effectiveness to Office of Planning & Decision Support (incl. integration of Assessment, Planning, and Decision Support functions). Created data governance program and plan for data warehousing.
❖Teamed with the Provost to institute a new strategic planning process entitled “Quest for Distinction” that clarified the university’s positioning within higher education and the surrounding community.
❖Facilitated strategic plan for the VCU medical school. Arranged meetings with the school, wrote plan, and gathered medical education data.
