Notes LLOYD N. MORRISETT, PH.D. Chairman Emeritus of the Board, Sesame Workshop Dr. Morrisett co-founded the Children’s Television Workshop (since renamed Sesame Workshop) in 1968 and was Chairman of the Workshop board from 1968 until 2000; he continues as a board member. Lloyd served as President of The John and Mary R. Markle Foundation from 1969 to 1998, during which time he initiated the foundation’s program in communications and information technology. He was Vice President of the Carnegie Corporation of New York and of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching before joining Markle. Currently, he is Chairman of the Executive Committee of Public Agenda, a nonprofit organization specializing in unbiased information on issues of national importance. Lloyd is also an advisory trustee of RAND, a research institute dealing with domestic public policy and national security issues, and has served as Board Chairman for nine years (1986-1995). He is also a director of Tucows, Inc., an Internet services company, as well as an advisor to Posit Science, a company applying neuroscience to improve cognitive functioning. He was a trustee of Oberlin College and was Chairman of its board from 1975 to 1981. Lloyd received his B.A. at Oberlin College, did graduate work in Psychology at University of California at Los Angeles, and earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology at Yale University.
