In recent years, school districts throughout the Pittsburgh area have increasingly placed an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics, otherwise known as STEAM-related subjects, as parents and students have gained a greater awareness of the importance of these areas in career success. In the last six years, together with our partners at the Grable, Claude Worthington Benedum, Chevron and Pittsburgh Penguins foundations, the AIU has distributed more than $2.6 million in STEAM grants to schools in southwestern Pennsylvania. |
