In 2005 Francisco joined UBS Financial Services Incorporated, Puerto Ricos’s largest financial
Services firm with over 50% market share, as Managing Director of its Institutional & Wealth
Management Business Development Group. He has structured over $3 billion in Municipal
Finance, Corporate, Commercial, Asset Based, AFICA and Mergers and Acquisitions
transactions He is a member of the Group Managing Board of UBS Puerto Rico.
Francisco Rodríguez Castro has been a key executive in promoting the private sectors
participation in the formulation of public policy of the country in order to achieve and
promote sustained economic development for Puerto Rico. In addition to his role as a Top
Executive in UBS he is also one of the founders of the Coalition of the private sector a not
for profit association of associations that is the umbrella of Puerto Rico’s most prestigious
professional associations a force that encompasses 900,000 private sector employees within
its membership. The Coalition of the private sector was founded in 2006 and has been a key
participant in finding solutions to Puerto Rico’s fiscal and economic crisis, thru the coalition
he has participated in the preparation of Puerto Rico’s Fiscal and Tax reform of 2006, 2008
New Economic Incentives Act or Act 73 amongst others.
As a board member of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce in 2006 he organized ,
founded and Chairs the Puerto Rico Conference a Macro economic investment conference,
which to this day is the only country conference held in Puerto Rico led solely by the private
sector which attracts key outside inventors from all parts of the world .
Francisco is the type of executive that leaves his mark. Time and time again he has been
able to promote changes and transformations in the institutions that he participates,
always keeping in mind the benefit of his clients and his organization. Prior to joining UBS
Francisco was President and CEO of the Economic Development Bank for Puerto Rico.
