Luis Núñez-Salgado is a senior counsel in the Labor and Employment Law Department. He joined O’Neill & Borges in 1994, and has been in private law practice since 1976. His practice includes counseling, litigation and arbitration before the Puerto Rico and federal administrative agencies and courts.
Luis’ extensive practice in the construction, sales, service, insurance, telecommunications, credit union, manufacturing, transportation, and other industries has included advising and representing employers in a broad range of issues; including litigation, wrongful discharge, wage and hours, discrimination, reductions-in-force, mass lay-offs and closing of operations, reorganizations, privacy rights and violation claims, covenants not to compete, FMLA, COBRA, disability, regulatory practice, workmen’s compensation, defamation, drug testing, and internal investigations of equal employment claims. He also offers management training and seminars in all of these areas.
Luis also has significant experience in collective bargaining negotiations, collective bargaining contract administration, and has represented employers in union avoidance, union representation and de-unionization campaigns.
He has also represented both buyers and sellers in complex acquisition transactions with significant employment related issues, including transfers of going concerns and successor employer issues. |
