BIF is collaborating with Rhode Island’s Highlander Institute in this endeavor to help engage and guide teachers through the program. The Highlander Institute creates blended learning and technology engagement professional development programs and has gained national recognition for their work.
“TD4Ed provides the tools and guidance we know teachers are looking for,” said Dana Borrelli-Murray, Highlander Institute’s Executive Director. “We’re excited to work with BIF to build a community of inspired and invigorated teachers able to address the challenges they face and support each other in the process.”
BIF is currently recruiting teams of teachers for six-week pilot programs in three locations: Rhode Island, Philadelphia and Chicago. The Rhode Island pilot will start in February, while the Philadelphia and Chicago pilots will start in April. All participants will come together in June for a workshop in Providence. The insights from the program and website will culminate in a report and an open source curriculum in the summer of 2014. |
