The Center for Better Schools offers advanced programs of study for advanced middle and high school teachers in high-needs schools through its National Academy of Advanced Teacher Education (NAATE). Through the use of a complex and research-based case study method, the NAATE content and design afford participants crucial exposure to and practice in the principles that drive improved performance under the new Common Core State Standards. NAATE has recognized, however, that in order for its programming to be as effective as possible for schools, it needs to design companion content for school leaders who will support their teachers in the program. NAATE is therefore proposing to integrate formal school leadership content and programming into its model. This programming will parallel current teacher leader programming, and will include specific academic materials, readings, cases, books, activities, and structure. |
