Robert L. Zollars, P.E., R.P.L.S., is co-founder, Chief Executive Officer, and President of Huitt-Zollars, Inc., an engineering/architectural firm with 15 offices in six states. Bob, a native of Wray, Colorado, is a 1972 graduate of Southern Methodist University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. In 1975, Bob joined with Larry Huitt to start the firm of Huitt-Zollars. In 36 years, the firm has grown from its start in Dallas with two people to more than 400 employees who have designed significant projects throughout the Southwestern and Western United States. Huitt-Zollars annually ranks among the country’s top design firms. He currently serves as a member of the Executive Board of the SMU School of Engineering. Bob considers his wife Cathy a partner in all of his endeavors. Cathy’s PhD in Education and Business and her successful career as an educator strengthened their understanding and their commitment to education and to the community. Married for 43 years, they share a love of horse racing and own horses that have competed in the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness.
