Richard C Lundquist

Mr. Lund­quist is owner and president of Continental Development Corporation, a commercial real-estate and management company in El Segundo, Calif. The Lundquists, both 65, pledged $50-million to Torrance Memorial Medical Center to build a new main patient tower, bringing their total gifts for the tower to $55-million. The Lundquists have been involved with the hospital for several years, both as patients and donors. In 2006, the couple gave $13-million to establish the Lundquist Cardiovascular Institute and to expand the medical center’s emergency department. In addition, the Lundquists gave $2.1-million to other charities, including $1-million to the University of the Pacific’s Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, $350,000 to the Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute (of which Mrs. Lundquist is a board member), and $250,000 to the El Segundo Education Foundation, where Mr. Lundquist is a board member.
