Richard Uihlein

Billionaire founder and CEO of shipping supplies manufacturer Uline; great grandson of August Uihlein, co-founder of Joseph Schlitz Brewing Co.

An heir to the Schlitz brewing fortune, Richard Uihlein cofounded the Uline shipping supply company with his wife Elizabeth. He serves as Uline's CEO, and she is the Wisconsin-based company's president. Richard E. Uihlein is Chairman of the Board of Galectin Therapeutics. He co-founded Uline, Inc. (a leading distributor of shipping, packaging and industrial supplies) in 1980, and has served as its Chief Executive Officer and Chairman since its founding. Prior to founding Uline Inc., Mr. Uihlein was employed at General Bindings Corp., Northbrook, IL from 1967 to 1980. Mr. Uihlein graduated from Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA. with a BA degree in history in 1967. Richard Uihlein has been the Director of Galectin Therapeutics since 2018.
