Brett Perlman is currently President of Vector Advisors, a management consulting firm that provides services to telecommunications and energy clients. Prior to his current role, he served as Commissioner of the Public Utility Commission (PUC) of Texas. He was appointed to the PUC of Texas in 1999 by then-Governor George W. Bush and served until his term ended in September 2003. He was responsible for leading the successful restructuring of Texas’ $17 billion electric utility industry and $4 billion telecommunications industry as these markets opened to competition. As a result of Perlman’s leadership, Texas has been widely recognized as having the best electric restructuring program in the country and one of the most successful competitive telecommunications markets. Mr. Perlman earned a degree in Economics from Northwestern University, a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas Law School, and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
