Donna L. Blackwell received a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Washington University and an AB in psychology from the University of Missouri. She has traveled to Asia, Europe, the Middle East, the Americas, and Africa. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Foreign Policy Association Off-The-Record Lecture series, the oldest women’s foreign policy lecture series in the United States, and is on the Board of Directors of the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation and the Little Light Foundation. Previously she has served on the Boards of the U.S. Committee for UNIFEM, Girl Scouts of the USA, and the World Foundation for Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. Dr. Blackwell’s past accomplishments include the following: While CEO of the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation Dr. Blackwell presided over a fourfold increase in revenue from major gifts, foundation grants and individual donations in the first fiscal year. As Founder and CEO of Human Works management consultants Dr. Blackwell assisted both Fortune 50 companies as well as non-profit clients with communications, best practices studies, and corporate citizenship strategy. While the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF Dr. Blackwell developed marketing and communications strategies, fundraising campaigns, led the re-positioning of the UNICEF brand in the United States, and produced events for the UN and UNICEF, the U.S. Fund Board, and donors. During her time as Director of Corporate Communication and Consumer Affairs for Avon Products, Inc. Dr. Blackwell pioneered cause marketing at the Avon Foundation. As Director of Corporate Affairs for Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc. Dr. Blackwell established and directed an award-winning corporate citizenship and philanthropy department.
