Aileen Adams has extensive administrative and public sector experience spanning three decades. In July 2009, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa appointed her Deputy Mayor for Strategic Partnerships, a new position designed to maximize collaboration between the City and the nonprofit and philanthropic communities. In 2008, Adams was selected as a Fellow at Harvard’s Women and Public Policy Program and conducted leadership trainings in Liberia under their auspices. Adams currently serves on a number of community boards. She is active with leading international organizations, especially Women for Women International, which has helped tens of thousands of women around the world set up their own micro-businesses. She served for three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Brazil and speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
