Jeanne was appointed as Commissioner of the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) in April 2002 by Mayor Bloomberg. Prior to her appointment, Jeanne was Vice President of External Relations for The After-School Corporation (TASC), overseeing government affairs and media relations. Before that, she shaped legislative and policy proposals relating to criminal justice and victim-related topics as Deputy Director of Intergovernmental Relations for the NYS Attorney General Office. Throughout the 1990s, she held several senior management positions at Safe Horizon, a major not-for-profit provider of programs for NYC crime victims. Jeanne has been appointed by the Mayor to several prominent City-wide commissions, including the Commission for Economic Opportunity, the Temporary Commission on Day Laborer Job Centers and the Commission on Construction Opportunity. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College, and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law.
