Mr. Michael D. Israel serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Westchester County Health Care Corporation. Mr. Israel serves as an Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Westchester Medical Center Foundation Inc. Mr. Israel has orchestrated a remarkable turnaround for Westchester Medical Center Foundation. Mr. Israel served as Chief Operating Officer of North Shore - Long Island Jewish Health System. Prior to North Shore, he served at Duke University Health System as Vice President, where he was responsible for the system’s 1124-bed university hospital, 218-bed regional hospital, 319-bed community hospital, infusion center, hospice and an affiliated county hospital. Mr. Israel also provided varying degrees of executive level leadership to high quality organizations such as Jewish Health System (North Shore-Long Island) and Duke University Health System. Mr. Israel served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Duke University Hospital and Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs at Duke University. Mr. Israel served as an Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President of Medical and Professional Services and Corporate Development at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital and The Texas Heart Institute at the Texas Medical Center and Vice President of Development & Operations and President of three subsidiaries (health resources, diversified services, properties) at Shadyside Health, Education and Research Corp. and Shadyside Hospital, in Pennsylvania. Mr. Israel has been a Director of SRI Surgical Express Inc. since May 21, 2009. He serves as a Director of Westchester County Health Care Corporation. He has an impressive career is equally complimented with an undergraduate degree from Rutgers University. Mr. Israel is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. Israel holds a Masters of Public Health, Hospital Administration, from Yale University where he received the United States Public Health Services Fellowship, and a Bachelors of Arts, Business Administration, from Rutgers College.
