Carol Swanson

First of three known children in Omaha, Douglas county, Nebraska, to Florence Lorraine Swanson-Hamilton, ('nee Peterson) & Walter Clarke Swanson. Carol Ann Swanson, became known on both sides of the Atlantic for her decorating style and entertaining. Known for their lavish parties, she was asked to plan inaugural dinners for the Reagans Widowed in 2012 now making her home between, Los Angeles and Indian Wells, California. Carol's father and uncle Gilbert are credited for starting our country on frozen TV dinners, with their Swanson Food company first furnishing them in 1954. The company however, was started years earlier by their father, Carl Anton Swanson, a "Swede" who immigrated to Nebraska. Carol was a very popular girl, attended Brownell-Tablot school and graduated Stanford University. She was selected Queen of Omaha's prestigious 1958 Knights of AK-SAR-BEN Foundation celebration, two years later embarked upon her first marriage to Clark Schiller Rhoden, a son of president of the Fox Midwest Amusement Corporation, The marriage had its problems so she divorced him January 1968 keeping their two daughters by him with her, then a year later, January 1969 married her second husband spending forty-three+ years with him till his death, having one known son by him. Carol's selection of a second husband was Charles Harry Price, II, as stated Best Man at her first wedding, a Kansas City boy whose father started the Price Candy company,
