DeAngela Burns-Wallace is the Assistant Dean for Diversity Outreach and Recruitment in the Office of Undergraduate Admission at Stanford University. Prior to joining Stanford admission, Ms. Burns-Wallace served as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State working in Guangzhou and Beijing China, Pretoria, South Africa, and Washington D.C. In her capacity as an FSO, she has held numerous positions including Consulate Management Officer, Non-Immigrant Visa Officer, Press Attaché, and Special Assistant on Legislative Affairs. She is also trained in two languages: French and Mandarin Chinese. Ms. Burns-Wallace received her BA from Stanford, her MPA from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and is currently working on her doctorate in education, through the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on issues of access for students of color and low income students.
