Eric Wepsic graduated with an A.B in mathematics from Harvard University in 1992, and earned his A.M in mathematics from the same institution in 1994. While at Harvard, Mr. Wepsic was twice a winner of the award granted to the top five scorers in the internationally renowned William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Examination. He was also a 1987 gold medalist in the International Mathematics Olympiad. Mr. Wespic joined the D.E. Shaw group in 1994, and has historically focused on research in the area of computational trading in the equity markets. He is a managing director and, along with Anne Dinning and Julius Gaudio, is responsible for the management and trading of the firm’s investment strategies
