Steven D. Broidy, also known as Steve, served as Founding Chairman of the Private Bank of California from 2005 to January 15, 2010 and served as its Interim Chief Executive Officer from May 2008 to January 2010. He passed away on November 3 2018. He was 80 years old. Mr. Broidy is a banker with over 40 years of experience in the California banking industry. He was a Partner in the Los Angeles based national law firm of Loeb and Loeb from 1988 to 1992. He served as the Chairman of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center from 1998 to 2001. Mr. Broidy served in various capacities with Union Bank since 1963 until its sale in 1988 and served as its Executive Vice President from 1972 to 1988. He served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Weingart Foundation from 1999 to December 2003. Mr. Broidy served as a Vice Chairman of BBCN Bancorp, Inc. and BBCN Bank from September 2010 to June 26, 2014. He served as a Vice Chairman of City National Bank and its holding company, City National Corporation from 1992 to 1995. He served as Vice Chairman of Nara Bank, N.A. since September 2010. He served as Director of the Board for Nara Bancorp since September 2010. He served as Director at Nara Bank, N.A. He has been a Director of PS Group since December 10, 1996. He served as a Director of Sanwa Bank of California and then of its successor, United California Bank, from 1996 to 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Broidy holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley. Broidy is survived by his devoted wife, Caron, his son, Marc Broidy, sister, Eleanor Sattinger, and his nieces, Jill and Janice Sattinger.
