Jill earned a B.A. in Economics from Vassar College ('71) and an M.B.A. from Columbia University. She joined the family business General Linen Supply & Laundry Co. which was founded by her great-grandfather. She was co-executive with her sister when they sold the company after being indicted for federal antitrust laws by agreeing not to compete for customers in New York City. Crain's New York Business reported, "According to court documents, one company would notify the other when customers were contemplating switching linen suppliers, and the other company would respond with inflated, non-competitive quotes. The firms settled the case by paying $6 million in cash and offering customers $3 million worth of vouchers." Federated Linen & Uniform Services is another family business. She is an active supporter of the CLARE Foundation which provides treatment for addicts, donating $50,000 (or more) in a year (2012-2013). Jill serves as a commissioner of the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department, and a member of the board of the Los Angeles Parks Foundation.
