Bradley Abelow is chief operating officer of MF Global, a leading cash and derivatives broker delivering access to products, solutions, and insights across the world’s financial markets. Prior to joining MF, he was a founding partner of NewWorld Capital Group, a private equity firm investing in businesses active in environmental opportunities. He was chief of staff to Jon Corzine, governor of the State of New Jersey. Prior to that, he served as treasurer of the State of New Jersey. Before working in New Jersey State government, he was a partner and managing director of The Goldman Sachs Group, where he managed Goldman’s Operations Division, which was responsible for the global processing and corporate services functions of the firm. Earlier, he was responsible for Goldman Sachs Operations, Technology, Risk and Finance functions in Asia, based in Hong Kong. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1989 in the Investment Banking Division’s Corporate Finance Department. In 2005, he led the effort to create an Environmental Policy Framework for Goldman Sachs. The framework led to the creation of the Goldman Sachs Center for Environmental Markets. He serves as chairman of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Finance Advisory Board, and is also a trustee of Just Vision. He received a BA in political science from Northwestern University and an MA in public and private management from the Yale School of Management.
