Philip Niarchos

Eldest son of late Greek shipping magnate Stavros Niarchos inherited father's art collection of such masterpieces as Vincent van Gogh's "Self-Portrait with a Bandaged Ear" and Pablo Picasso's self-portrait "Yo, Picasso." Philip, who is a board member of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, has added such contemporary works as Jean-Michel Basquiat's "Self-Portrait" and Andy Warhol's "Shot Red Marilyn." Commissioned to do Philip's portrait, Warhol created a series based on CAT-scans of Philip's skull. While Philip is intensely private, multiple art experts pinned his collection as world's most valuable in private hands.
